Wherever there’s a Disney park, there’s typically one or more Marriotts nearby! That’s why we love opening Marriott cards and using the welcome bonus to book nights at Disney.

Open a Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card and earn 3 Free Nights (each valued up to 50,000 points) after you spend $5,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from your account opening (prices fluctuate, and some of the rooms at some of the properties will cost over 50,000 points during high season). If the room price is higher that 50,000 and you need a few more points to top off these certificates, you can use up to 15,000 points/night to cover the difference. These certificates expire twelve months after you earn them, so plan accordingly.

We’ve organized these properties into four categories by location: across the street on Harbor Blvd, South of the parks on Katella near the Toy Story Parking lot (which has a shuttle), West on Clementine Rd. near I5, and NW on Ball Rd.

Sidenote: these are all Disney Good Neighbor Hotels, but I’m not sure that matters much at Disneyland. At WDW, it’s nice to stay in a Good Neighbor Hotel because you get extra park perks, but these don’t seem to enjoy any park perks (including no free shuttles).

Across the Street on Harbor Boulevard

If you want to be as close to Disneyland as possible, this is a fan favorite, because it’s right across the street from the West Disneyland entrance on Harbor Blvd. As far as this list goes, it’s the closest you’ll get to the park entrance, which matters a lot when you’re park tired and just want to rest in your room.

An upgraded motel experience with clean and basic rooms, while the rooms don’t have coffee makers & microwaves, there’s a floor or two in the hotel that have a microwave and toaster (handy as we for quick breakfasts and snacks) and there is a ice machine and vending machine on all floors. There’s even a gift shop and arcade! This property is not just across the street from the park entrance: it’s also conveniently located right next to a Panera and McDonalds and near an IHOP for convenient breakfasts and late night snacks. No free breakfast, parking is $50.

Near Toy Story Parking Lot on Katella

The following three properties are on Katella, South of the parks. You could probably walk to the West park entrance in 10-15 minutes, or you could also take the convenient shuttle from the nearby Toy Story parking lot.

Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center

I read a lot of hotel reviews before I write these posts, and this property gets extremely good customer feedback! It’s a newer hotel with Kids’ Suites featuring a themed room, full kitchens, private bedrooms, and separate workspaces with free WiFi. Start your day with a complimentary breakfast buffet. Visit the rooftop pool with oversized hot tub, where you’ll have a view of the fireworks at night. There’s Several options in the hotel to eat including a pizza place, Starbucks, hot grill and hotel restaurant. There’s even a reasonably priced car rental facility attached to hotel. Full hot breakfast served in the lobby area each morning with scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, plus make your own waffles, toast, bagels etc. Fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, milk, coffee and tea were also offered. Enjoy the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf just 200 feet from the front door.

Large families will love this hotel, especially the kids suite with bunk beds and 2 queens. Fantastic complimentary breakfast included every morning with something to please everyone, including make your own Mickey waffles, toast, bagels, croissants, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal and all the toppings, yogurt and fruit, eggs, breakfast meat, cereal–a really great breakfast before hitting the parks. There’s a CVS nearby and coffee shop and pizza hut across the parking lot. Parking is limited in the immediate basement parking lot, but they share another lot with the Residence Inn just across the way.

Sheraton Park Hotel at the Anaheim Resort

Based on customer reviews, even though this hotel is newly renovated, it doesn’t seem to be a favorite. That being said, the rooms are generally clean, spacious, and some have a perfect view of the Disneyland Fireworks. Gorgeous, inviting pool and hot tub area; and fantastic tiki bar. Lots of places to eat within walking distance to the hotel. The parking is cheaper here (currently) than the other Marriott properties. Close to Anaheim Garden Walk to get dinner and see the light displays.

Clementine St Near Interstate 5

This is a newer hotel, and who doesn’t love a new hotel? It’s West of the parks, a little further away near the freeway, (when we stayed at the Home2Suites nearby, it only took us 7 minutes to walk to the west entrance of the parks).

Overall, this hotel is probably best suited for families with older kids or adults traveling for business/pleasure–the popular kid-friendly bunkbed suites face the freeway, and reviews say it’s noisy on that side (this is why we always travel with a noise machine!). Enjoy free Wi-Fi Internet and an outdoor pool and BBQ area, as well as daily, free hot breakfast, including bagels, eggs, fruit, juice, turkey bacon/sausage. Parking is $22/night.

TIP: request an odd numbered room so you’ll be facing the parks, away from the noisy Interstate.

I feel like the name of this property is misleading, because it makes it sound like it’s really close to the park entrance and it’s just not. We know because we stayed here in 2019. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, it just wasn’t close to the parks, and there were no restaurants around either. It took over twenty minutes to walk to the Downtown Disney East Entrance so we ubered frequently when we were tired.

An all-suite hotel with large rooms including a mini-fridge and microwave, there was enough room for our family of five to unwind. We enjoyed the free hot breakfast in the lobby dining room every morning, and the kids took advantage of the outdoor heated pool. There is an extra parking fee if you plan on having a car.

TAKEAWAYS

There’s no one-size-fits-all Disneyland hotel–some highly value proximity, free breakfast and/or parking, while others just want to stay as close to the parks as possible. But no matter your traveling party’s needs, there’s sure to be a place to stay on this list!
